The UP is home to one of the best health insurance plans in the nation. That's according to a survey just released by US News and World Report.
The company? The Upper Peninsula Health Plan. It ranked 47th nationwide among Medicaid-managed care plans.
The plans were measured in four categories: access to care, overall member satisfaction, prevention, and treatment.
"We have a strong relationship with the physicians and medical workers," said President and CEO Dennis Smith. "We wouldn't have been able to get this without their help, this status award."
UPHP officials say they pride themselves on the amount of child and maternal care they provide.
