Humana do offer discounted health plans

From ChallengerNKY.com

FORT MITCHELL - Humana and the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce have announced a new partnership to bring affordable health benefit plans to Northern Kentucky employers with two to 50 employees. Discounted plans will be available to employers in Kenton, Campbell, Boone, Gallatin, Grant and Pendleton counties.

According to Humana's Northern Kentucky and Ohio Market President Tim Cappel, plans will be available for quotes on Nov. 1, with effective dates as early as Dec. 1. Plans will be available through all area health plan brokers.

Humana will host a kickoff for local brokers on Oct. 13 to provide an overview of the new partnership and plan offerings. Chamber members will receive additional information in an upcoming mailing.

A range of health plan designs will be available, including new consumer choice plans with Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and more traditional plans such as PPOs.

Gary Toebben, president of the Northern Kentucky Chamber, called the new program "a valuable option" for Chamber members. Larry Savage, Humana's regional chief executive officer, said it would "bring real value to small employers that are often the hardest hit by today's skyrocketing health care costs."

Humana recently announced the opening of a satellite service center in Newport. The move brings 220 new jobs to Northern Kentucky.
