State Farm has a press release on their website entitled "State Farm Offers Safe Driving Tips for the Holidays" which covers some basic steps for safety on the road.
According to the article, over 400 people died and 6400 were injured in car crashes during Thanksgiving in 2008. State Farm is looking to reduce this scary statistic. If you are a safer driver it may actually end up lowering your State Farm insurance quote. Some tips may seem obvious, but it's amazing how many people do not follow these guidelines. Always buckle your seat belt, avoid risky distractions such as texting while driving, get adequate amount of sleep before you hit the road and do not eat while you drive.
