Health insurance plan, wellness face council

Fort Morgan City Council members will act Tuesday on approval of a city employee health insurance plan and reinstatement of the city's wellness program.

The health insurance plan was detailed at length in Friday's Times.

The council will also hold a public hearing on a request from the Fort Morgan School District to retain the current eight-foot setback on the north side of the former administration building.

District officials want to keep the same setback for the new alternative high school building that will be constructed on the site with the administration building and warehouse torn down.

These matters will be acted on during a special council meeting at the beginning of the evening with a work session to follow.

At the work session council members will discuss the Twilight Criterium bicycle race for next July 15 with organizer David Roberts, renewal of the retail liquor store license for Village Liquor at 631 W. Platte Ave., a street network plan concerning Nelson Road (County Road 17.7), receipt of a petition for MEKEW annexation on Nelson Road, bids for a parks department dump truck and a proposed increase in golf course fees.

There will also be discussion of the council's public meeting procedure concerning the Nov. 15 session in which the public is invited to talk about prohibiting parking or storage of certain vehicles on city streets.

Tuesday's meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the council chambers on the second floor of Historic City Hall, 110 Main St., and is open to the public.
